Peter Grabell brings over 35 years of commercial real estate and clean energy finance experience to PACE Equity as the Senior Vice President of Market Development for the western US.
Previously, Peter was Senior Vice President, Commercial PACE for Dividend Finance from 2015 through 2022, following its acquisition by Fifth Third Bank. In leading the PACE division for Dividend, Peter’s scope encompassed:
- Capital markets placement of C-PACE investments
- Setting credit policy
- Originating and underwriting PACE assessment financing
- Formulating and executing go-to-market strategies
- Collaborating with county and local governmental agencies to legislate PACE financing within their jurisdictions
- Advancing depository and debt fund education around PACE to obtain lender consent to the PACE lien
For 12 years, Peter led a 23-person team at Bridger Commercial Funding that originated CMBS loans exclusively through banks. His team closed over $5 Billion in CMBS loans sourced from 173 depositories. He also ran a distressed debt investment fund and developed an electronic CRE loan origination platform for GE Capital.
Peter has previously been a Board member of PACE Nation, the PACE industry’s trade association and has been a member of the C-PACE Alliance, a consortium of industry stakeholders dedicated to advancing Commercial PACE nationally. He is also a licensed Real Estate Broker in California.
Since 2016 Peter has been the Independent Director for Goal Structured Solutions, a San Diego-based loan servicer, and student loan originator and portfolio investor. He is a past National Board member of Gift of Adoption and is currently President of its California Chapter. Gift of Adoption provides last-dollar-funding to families lacking finances to complete an adoption.
Peter earned his MBA from Columbia University’s Business School, with a major in Real Estate. He also holds a BA from Haverford College.
His extracurricular interests include camping and mid-century/modernist design.
